Immigration and anti-EU sentiment

If you go back to the Sweden Democrats' founding, you can see that they had ties to Neo-Nazi and other racist political parties. This wasn't addressed until 2012, when the party instituted a "zero-tolerance policy," which led people connected to these movements to leave the party (Bolin, 2015). The Sweden Democrats, however, continued to prioritise immigration as one of their main areas of interest even after these changes, pushing for tighter external border controls and limiting the application of EU migration restrictions.
